Promises kept

It's been an honor to serve as your Mayor since 2013.  The Town Council has made a lot of progress in the past few years. Morrisville has begun several significant road projects to improve Morrisville-Carpenter Road and NC 54.  The Morrisville Parkway railroad bridge project is completed, funding is in place for the MSV-Carpenter Road widening project and the McCrimmon Parkway extension project is under construction.  NCDOT has committed over $250 million in other Morrisville area projects in next 5-10 years.

In 2009, I voted to have a greenway connection with Crabtree Crossing Parkway added to the Transportation Plan.  I was and still am opposed to a road connection as it would send freeway-volumes of traffic onto the residential streets in the Preston Grande area.  We are currently updating our transportation plan and I am glad to report that the greenway connection is currently under construction that will connect Crabtree Crossing to our Hatcher Creek Greenway system and Town Hall Drive.

We opened 2 new parks in the past 18 months at NW Park and Church Street Park, which features the only regulation-size cricket grounds in the area.  We recently started work on the Crabtree-Hatcher Creek Greenway system which will link trails from Davis Drive to Lake Crabtree.  The renovation of the aquatics and fitness center is currently in the early design phase.

Wake County is building a new library in Morrisville next year and Wake Tech Community College is taking shape on NC54 near Perimeter Park.  Wake County Public Schools announced the new elementary school, Parkside Elementary for the 2019 school year near Davis Drive.

Morrisville has voted one of best places to live in the US and our AAA-bond ratings help keep our taxes some of the lowest in Wake County.

Thank you for all your support in making Morrisville a great place to live, work and play!
